Former cinema superhero Riggan Thomson (Michael Keaton) is mounting an ambitious Broadway production that he hopes will breathe new life into his stagnant career. It’s risky, but he hopes that his creative gamble will prove that he’s a real artist and not just a washed-up movie star. As opening night approaches, a castmate is injured, forcing Riggan to hire an actor (Edward Norton) who is guaranteed to shake things up. Meanwhile, Riggan must deal with his girlfriend, daughter and ex-wife.
A STERLING cast list. Individually the performances are incredible and true.
The inventive cinematography makes you feel like everything is occurring in real time. Stunning.
The Chilli Lights scene ♥
Underwear fight scene! lol
EVERYTHING else. Honestly... W.T.H?
This story is not going anywhere. Fast. Sitting through so much dull for not much excitement.
‘That’ scene with Naomi Watts & Andrea Riseborough…. missed out on the good bits!
Too much ‘Hipster Gung-Ho’ and not enough connection with the characters.
5/10 (yep, you read that right)
Im probably coming across a tad harsh on this one, but honestly, someone needs to say what no one else is! (apart from google search suggestion)
Its a shame really, I too was drawn in by the trailers, only to be left feeling ripped off!
It has promise & a simple but befitting setting. But I got sick of seeing the same battles that the main protagonist torments himself with. I wanna see more about the struggles with his ex-wife and drug abusing daughter. I wanna know why the supporting characters are just as crazy as the main character!
Considering the small scope of the surroundings its set in, I still found it visually stimulating, but not enough to warrant to buzz its received since before its big Oscar win.
Give it a spin, once, just so you can decide for yourself if you like it or not. Don’t believe the hype you’re told to. Ignore my personal views on this…. or don’t... whatever. This movie is going to be in alot of ‘popular countdowns’ for years to come, so its best you have your own opinion ready.
